A quick drive through a couple of towns today that we wanted to
see just for the name sake.
Since we are from Lexington & Georgetown, Kentucky,
we wanted to see these 2 towns of Texas since they weren't far apart and
on our way to our next destination.
The picture above is from Lexington, Texas, which is a town barely there, yet with a population over 1000.
We actually would have missed this older part of town had we not done a rerun through the town.
One house had a couple of cows in the back yard.
Not something you will see in Lexington, KY.
Georgetown, Texas is much, much larger than Georgetown, Kentucky.
Georgetown, KY was established in 1784.
Georgetown, KY was established in 1784.
Georgetown, Kentucky has a College while this one has a University.
They have a much larger courthouse.
They have a few more stores around their courthouse in the
historic part of their town.
We then moved on to Temple, Texas to visit family.
Temple, Texas from a distance.

Follow along on our trip as I will try to post daily.
Old Lexington looks like an old movie set. You were so close to the Texas Hill Country. Did you see any of the beautiful lakes in that part of Texas?
ReplyDeleteWe took a roundabout way to Temple to avoid some traffic and drove by a lake. Came across a restaurant I'm sure had a beautiful view of the lake from its high view point.
