Test Computer

The computer lab is used about 9 weeks out of the school year just for testing.  I wonder how much learning could happen if we didn't have to test so much?

Day & Night

Remember what the morning looked like when I got up to go to school the first work day?

NOW this is what it looks like at the same time of the morning when I get up to go to school.

In Charge

Adorable pictures and writings by a second grade class.  This was one of the products.  A portrait of me.

Not Purple Hearts

I'm sure that once upon a time this was a beautiful little girl's room.
But the pink hearts had to go.
Took me a while to get them down because I couldn't spend too much time on the ladder at one time but, my little ladder station with my little Shark Steamer worked well.
Now, notice the time difference of each of the following pictures to see how long it took to do this small section.  The steamer worked fine.  It was my leg muscles and new knee that didn't want to cooperate.  Standing on a ladder, I found out, is good leg exercise as much as climbing it.  I had to stop occasionally and use my muscles differently, like sweeping up the wall paper bits, take pictures, drink some cold water out of the new frig and of course sit at an open window on this breezy, cool day & look down at the creek from the back bedroom. Bending my legs to sit gave them a good rest.  No kidding.

Too Eager to Recycle

I have a favorite tissue box that I just refill because I like it's looks.  I can't tell you how many people come in to talk to me and catch this tissue box empty and pick it up and throw it in my recycling bin.  I was afraid someone would throw it away in the event I have a substitute or just not at school.  Sometimes I wonder if we've gone a bit overboard with recycling and forgot to try to reuse first.

Another Job

Mr. G means well.  After taking about 2 weeks on and off to paint and then another month to finish putting this bathroom together, I walked into it today to find white spackle spots all over the newly painted wall.  Mr. G had put up new towel racks that look beautiful and then proceeded to spackle around the edges where he took down the old.  Then he proceeded to fill in nail holes which I was going to let go for the moment until we totally gutted the room for remodeling later this winter.  Problem: I don't have touch up paint.  This was paint I mixed myself.  The chances of matching it so I can paint over the white spots....well, it looks like the whole bath will need to be repainted.  Makes me tired to think about it.  So far, every job he has done has created another job to be done.  Shew.  But I love him anyway.
