Thoughtful Thinking Thursday #155 ~ Copying an Old Purse Pattern

After 2 moves, I've lost the old pattern for this well loved, well worn purse.
It was a pattern I acquired from my very good friend Bonnie back in high school.
I had copied it onto a newspaper sheet like we normally did when we shared patterns.
I made several of these purses mostly from old jeans.
I made a few as baby shower gifts, because
despite it's small size, it was very roomy inside
and held a diaper change,
food and toy for a short trip out of the house.
I recently had someone to mention their bag to me.
Good feeling to know they remembered something from so long ago.

For some reason I haven't been successful with coming up with the same size.

I'm sure as soon as I'm successful recreating the pattern,
I'll find the old one.
Why is it we find something after we don't need it or aren't looking for it anymore?

Stitched Card for Any Occasion

Just some quick free style drawing to begin or find a black line to use.  Pull out some scrap fabric and get going.  Those backing scraps can come in handy too.

Memory Monday 105~ Leigh's Mug Organizer

I love it when someone lets me know
they used a tutorial I wrote from a design I created.
Thank-you Leigh.
I've lost your link! ?
My Mug Organizer has been very popular.
It is a gift that anyone can use to store any item.

A Revisit: Stitch a Stocking with this Free Pattern

A visit back to 2013

Here's a free pattern I drew up and shared.
I made a bunch of stockings that year.
Someone asked for one,
then I posted it on facebook and
then got several requests.
It was my chance to use my embroidery machine.
Super fast to make.

A Revisit: A Cash Stasher for a Key Chain

A visit back to 2014
I do not like to carry a purse or billfold into a store.
My keys are always in my pocket.
After many times being with only my keys,
I have wished for some cash.
Thus the invention of the Cash Stasher.
If you have an embroidery machine,
there is a free In the Hoop file I made for you to download.

A Revisit: Stitch Writing on Ribbons

A visit back to 2011
I put a lot of extra work in Christmas that year,
back when I had the strength and energy and much less pain.
Instead of making a trinket or card to go on each gift,
I personalize the ribbons
which was actually torn fabric.

A Revisit: Christmas Ornament & Card in One

A visit back to 2015

Like I've said many times,
I try to make something to go with every gift I give.
After cleaning out my parents' home,
I realized we never look at those cards we save,
but we do use ornaments, usually, each year.
So this first is a card,
then has directions to cut out the ornament,
which already has a gold cord for hanging.
Also a fun way to use those decorative stitches.
Just using different zig zag lengths would work.
