Bucket List Trip 2016~Day 27~ Crescent City, CA, Redwood National Park to Fortuna, CA

I could hear the rain beating on the window pane around 2 this morning.
A much needed rain, I understand.
A few more showers before we left the hotel.
We managed to load the car in no rain.
Drove around town a bit.

I see the face of a walrus and an elephant.
Mr. G sees a rhino.
Hmm, the things that fascinate us.

Then we went on to church.
By the time we got out of church, the sun had come out.
After lunch,
we headed south on HWY 101 once again.
Saw some elk just as we left town.

Actually we were grateful it had rained in the forest.
It gave the place an even more magical, mystical feel.

How close to the ocean have you driven?
 No, we didn't stop.

The tree was so big, it was hard to get a good shot for the other foliage.
The walk back to the car.

Some of this was carved from a tree stump.

 A sand bar.

Fortuna, CA  close to Lolita, CA
Our home for the night.
A super soft bed.
Love it when one of the cheaper hotels turns out to be the best.
