Mon Memory 116~ Volunteer Petunia

The petunias that volunteered in the bucket this year.
I LOVE totally free volunteers.
I remember when as a child
petunias were perennials.
Then came along hybrid petunias.
Usually when petunias volunteer
from red petunias the previous year,
they return as a light purple.
These are the first stripe volunteers I've ever seen.

They just keep getting taller.

  1. Petunias never made it over the winter here but we're a lot further north than you so that explains it. I like those purple/white stripes and remember my mother growing ones that looked like that. I've never had a green thumb when it comes to petunias or geraniums and they take one look at me and curl up their toes in defeat.
