Quilt Shot Block 159~ Needlework Sept 2023 Meeting

1.5 inch hexies hand pieced with 3D leaves.

These very old quilts of maybe 1920s
where passed on from one member to another.
The history of these quilts is not known.
There was no batting.
Only seemed to be made with a lightweight backing.
Perhaps made to be a summer quilt?

  1. They're all beautiful. I was especially intrigued with the sheer armount of ties on the crazy quilt.

  2. Pretty flowers! I have a quilt top that my grandmother made out of triangles from her 5 son's shirts. Sadly, by the time I got it, it was very moth-damaged. She passed away before I turned 1 so I don't have any memory of her but this and a necklace that she gave to my mother.
