Tues Tutorial~ Serger Shirt Memory Pillow

I was asked to make more Shirt Memory Pillows.  However, these were not shirts but rather tshirts, sweat shirts and sweaters.  I used the serger to make these. In this tutorial there are some serger tips.

Tuesday Tutorial

Work laid out. Not all could be used because of location of stones and very loose weave, or too short.
A slotted ruler that measured 16 inches
on each outer edge was used.

 Back

Front

Lay back piece right side
to front piece.

Tip 1: to sew knits

set Differential Feed
to about 1.50.

Tip 2: To turn a corner
when you come to the corner
Raise both needles by
turning knob on right of machine
toward you (never back)
(see picture 3 pictures above)
Needles up allow you to pull the threads just a bit
to allow them to be loosened.

Lift the pressure foot.
Pull slightly on the fabric
and turn.
The slight loosening of threads
allows you to turn the piece under the foot.
After you put the pressure foot down,
continue to sew.

Turn inside out through the opening
made by overlapping the back.
