A new Mommy doesn't usually have time with a growing baby to pick out the waist band of bloomers and thread through longer elastic to make the bloomers larger.
Here is a way to help that Mommy out with a faster adjustment to the present elastic.

Tuesday Tip
******************
Bloomers and pants of any size
are about the fastest garments that can be made.
Baby size is even faster.
Its as easy as 1,2,3,4 to get it ready for elastic.
I like to press up the hem and waist
before I stitch the front and back crotch seams.
the ends are stitched, and back stitched down.
Then sew the tiny crotch seam.
Zig Zag or serger finish is nice.
Today's Tip
If you sewed up the back seam
take out stitches for an opening as wide as
the elastic you use.
You might use 1/2, 3/8 or even 1 inch elastic.
Stitch around the opening as shown above.
Note this opening ends up on being
on the inside of the bloomers.
which you have
CUT ELASTIC
A COUPLE OF INCHES LONGER THAN NEEDED
to be used later for expanding.
LEAVE THE OPENING AS IS.
DO NOT CLOSE THE OPENING.
Then Mommy doesn't have to take out
stitches to get to the elastic,
The elastic stitches can be removed
and restitched to make the waist bigger.

supply list and tutorial.
I did use more narrow elastic.
