Quilting Process
Introduction
Lesson 1 Resources
Quilting process involves 2 to 3 layers
Piecing is cutting pieces of
fabric to fit together to make a larger piece of fabric or quilt top.
Quilting is stitching 2 or 3
layers of fabric together the layers can be a whole cloth or a pieced
quilt top, batting & a backing that can be whole cloth or large
pieces of fabric sewn together to cover the back of the quilt.
Hands on: Demonstrate with a
quilt block, batting and backing how the layers come together. Use
the following links to show variety of ways these layers can be
pieced and put together.
