If you keep some super soft minky fleece on hand,
as well as a soft fabric such as Seersucker,
then you can make up a baby blanket in no time.
This was a yard of minky fleece,
with a piece of soft Seersucker cut to match.
Place right sides together and
stitched 5/8 inch around edge,
leaving an opening to turn inside out.
and had no problem making the minky behave.
Once turned inside out,
use your favorite method to
pull out the seam.
Instead of using an iron,
finger press out the seam.
I like to pull out the seam with the point of a pin
as I stitch.
Stitch length was 3.0.
Because of the top stitching around the edge,
no quilting is needed.
until well,
he didn't want to be seen in public with it.

Have a Fun Friday making one of these.

Tip: Watch for sales of this fabric.
Compare the price to make them to premade.
This week this fabric is on sale for $5.39.
(I'm not sponsored, so sorry, I'm won't be sharing where I bought this.)
The Searsucker fabric I had bought
in a large $35 bag of fabric on marketplace.
So this blanket costs
me about $6?
That's still under the cheapest $10 blanket I found online.

My stash is what it is
because I either
paid a low low price
or
it was kindly given to me.
I'm very blessed.
Thanks for sharing this. I need to make some of these to have on hand for quick gifts. Somebody is always having a baby!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty blanket and I know it will be well loved. I'd like one adult-sized!
