Tuesday Tutorial~ Hexie Hand Stitched PATRIOT SCARF

 


It is a great year to make a patriot scarf to wear for the 250 celebration. I wore mine to the Quilt of Valor Awards this past May. (See some of the quilts here.)
Here is my hand stitched hexagon version. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 Several 1.5 inch (side measurement) hexies were 
cut from the quilt scraps.
 

 Three rows of 30 hexies were stitched together.
 

 This was a great lap project while watching TV.
 

 


One end was a triangle,
and the other end was a straight edge.
I hand stitched the triangle end closed.
Then I turned it inside out.
 

 I used the Hidden Ladder stitch (found here) to close the straight edge
so the stitches wouldn't show.
 
I did not iron it.
I've enjoyed wearing it.
