Although embroidery machines can do appliques, they are sometimes limited to the size of the machine's largest frame (unless your pattern provides start and stop points). With this technique, you can applique anything your printer can print. That would even include graphics that might need printing on multiple pages that are put together with glue or tape. Layer your base fabric, applique fabric and then the paper pattern
as seen in the photo above.
Fleece is used as the applique fabric here, because it will not fray & adds a nice dimension.
Stitch around outline using a 1.4 stitch length or about 8 stitches per inch.
The small stitches makes it easy to tear away the paper.
Trim as close to stitching as possible.
Trimming with a consistent width from stitching, if possible, looks nice.
