I started out with what I thought was an unusual event with this book. On the night of March 1 when I decided to start reading, I opened the book and.....
Found something in the book on that date!
Red rose petals!
I flipped through the rest of the book and found no more. For some reason, finding these rose petals on THE day I opened the book to start reading, compelled me to be determined to finish.
I carried this big heavy book on all my travels over the past year, including to my Mother's for weekends. The only time I didn't take it was on the Route 66 trip. I managed to read 2 weeks ahead so I wouldn't get behind and discouraged.
About a month before I finished, I found a copy of this book (Yearly Plan) on the FREE Bible app called
You Version @ https://www.bible.com/app
This app:
*can be used on a variety of devices
*read online via a browser
*offers several versions
*offers various videos from different Bible movies

Then on March 2, 2014, I hit the milestone of being retired 1000 days. "Bonus Days" of my life I call them. I started an itinerary journal on my first day of retirement. According to the dictionary, one of the definitions for itinerary is: An account or record of a journey. I feel everyday of retirement is a journey.
I have a book for each year. It's small to make it easy to stuff in the suitcase when I need. I have numbered each day and have messed up the count a few times. Just to make sure I count correctly, I use a web site where you can plug in dates to determine the number of days between each date. I like to go to http://www.timeanddate.com/date/duration.html. So if you know your special day, plug it in and see how many days it's been.

I believe things happen for a reason...even though we may never know what it could be. Very interesting journey you are on. I love that you refer to your retirement days are bonus days of your life. Blessings...
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on all, reading all the way through the Bible is an awesome and inspiring task, one I enjoyed and grew with a few years back so I can appreciate the meaning of it too. Great that you are keeping journals too, I think every day no matter what your doing or what age you are is truly a bonus day or gift from God. ~Diane
