Thoughtful Thur~ Prayer Blanket Tying Time

Our church presents a Prayer Blanket to those
that have endured or still enduring a hard time
such as death or sickness.

Groups get together to tie together
2 pieces of 2 yard fleece,
wrong sides together.
The ties are cut 4 to 5 inches long
about an inch apart.
This blanket was a kit from Joann's
which usually have one piece that
has the length of the ties
printed in a color like the purple here.

As a tie is being made into a knot
a quick pray is made.
Something as simple as
"Bless this Receiver."
However, we usually are talking about something else.
At least we can start and finish with a silent prayer.

Three of us got 2 finished on Social Night last weekend.
You can see the finished one laying on the table.

(Time for me to get a new phone?)

Thoughtful Thurs: Uncle's 90th Birthday Card

I couldn't make it to his celebration,
so I sent him a card.

Tues Tutorial~ Grand Son-in-Law Bday Card 2025- Son's Socks

Back in September when I showed my Grand Son's birthday card, I shared a video at the end of that post that included my Great Grand Son. At the end of the video, his beautiful, unmatched to us, socks appeared. His mother let him choose and said he'd wear the other pair tomorrow. So, it was decided, his Dad's bday card this year would include a replica of those socks, because apparently, my Great continues to choose his socks to wear.

Tuesday Tutorial

A green background was chosen,
because as a farmer,
his livelihood depends on green grass.
There was no pattern used for the socks.
They were simply cut free handed
at the same time.

The outline on the green comes from
tracing around the card
so placement of the socks can be made.

After stitching about an eighth inch
around the edge, the fabric is trimmed.

Quilt Shot 193~ Paper Pieced QOV Designed by Stella

This was a group quilt made
by the Elkhorn Creek QOV group
on National Sew Day, February, 2025.
It was awarded October 11, 2025.

I posted about the work

As you can see, there is a block in between the stars not shown in
any of the posts.

It's amazing and fun
how the blocks come together to form the design.
