Tuesday Tutorial~ 1st Grand Child's 2025 Bday Card

Just before my grand daughter's birthday, she was awarded a new teaching job. I was able to find a picture on her school's website that was easy to duplicate for her card this year.

A used fabric softener sheet was the base of applying fabric pieces
instead of interfacing or stabilizer.

By using the school's website,
it was discovered
apparently one of the school colors was green.
So that was the chosen background.

Then parts of the drawing were cut out
from different pieces of fabric.
Out came the light board for a little help.
So grateful I acquired this light board
through an Amazon gift card given to me for Christmas.

Yes, a piece cut from the drawing,
used as a pattern piece.

For the tiny windows,
tiny rectangles were cut free hand.
Several pieces are layered
before machine stitching starts.

Had a scrap piece of fabric for QOV quilts with a flag.
A bit oversized
but that can be an artist choice
for emphasis?

Happy Birthday M!
Have a wonderful year!

Fun Fri~ Prayer Blanket Time

We had social time at church.
Five of us chose to make a
"Prayer Blanket".

The edges of 2 layers of fleece
 is cut in
approximately 1 inch strips.
then tied together.

The intent is to say a prayer as each knot is tied
for the Receiver usually determined later
by an unfortunate event.
