Our backyard creek has hit one of it's highest levels. I'm only actually about a week late comparing the same week. I find it interesting to see how early or late spring may come. Comparing some pictures taken since 2011.
There is actually a very steep bank to the creek. Probably about 5 feet or more down to the original water level.
So my lower level is a tad higher than my neighbor's. Don't worry, she had moved the bench and pots.
Hard to show perception in a 2D picture. The bank is about 6 feet down to the water.
Too steep for me to even take these steps.
So the creek only made it to the top of the first bank. The white fence is at the top of yet another higher bank. The creek spills over into the lower land on the other side.
Water and its strength amazes me.
We always measure the level of the water by how close it gets to the bottom of the neighbor's dock.
Yesterday around 5:30 it was teasing the bottom. (left)
This morning it was gone! (right)
By 11:30 a.m this morning, it started to reappear!

Wow! You got a lot! I think we ended up with just over 5" of rain in our area.
ReplyDeleteI heard about your flooding from my daughter, glad you are still high and dry (lol). I really enjoy watching you chronicle from year to year on your yard, it is really interesting. Hope you are well. ~Diane
