Fun Fri~ Envelope Style Pillow Covers for the Deck

Can you see where the fabric came from
in this room?
 A roll of curtain fabric
I got at Restore.

Thought I needed 4,
but only had 3 more pillows.
One was already covered
as a test.

Fun Fri is what we make of it.
At least it made me feel better to
have these done
before the end of summer.

Fun Fri~Prepping Dryer Sheets for Scrappy Fabric Projects

My Scrappy Fabric Projects

such as

I need a base to place the scraps of fabric.

I rarely use
because it's too stiff.
Instead I recycle used fabric softener dryer sheets.
Above is a bag of sheets
my Mother's Caregivers
saved for me back in 2012.
I've decided it's a bottomless bag.

They were wadded and thrown in this bag,
thus
they don't lay flat.
Since they still have a residue on them
that brown the base of my iron,
 I take about 4 at a time
and lay them as flat as possible
between teflon sheets.
Then I press.
It doesn't take long.
It is a wonderful smell job.
I do realize some folks can't use these
because of the smell or chemicals.
When I finally use them,
I don't smell them.

I prep about a dozen at a time.

Then I store them flat under my cutting mat
to wait to be used on the next project.
When these 12 are used,
I pull out the bottomless bag again.

It's a quick fun chore.

Tues Tutorial~ Scrappy Bible Verses for Moods Bookmark

I couldn't make the Bible Table of Content Bookmarks fast enough. They were grabbed off the free table.  As I was going through Pinterest one day, lists of Bible verses for various reasons kept popping up. Then I thought, "Why not another bookmark?" So I did. I'm sharing a picture of the sheet that I made using the free Open Office Spreedsheet. You can download the picture and print it.

Tuesday Tutorial
******************

First lay out your pallet aka piles of small pieces of scrap fabric.

It's a good way to use your tiny scraps you tend to throw away,
because this is all I had leftover
from the piles above after making 12 bookmarks.

Sometimes I lay pieces haphazardly over a used dryer sheet,
then stitch around the raw edges.

Sometimes I stitch along one side of the piece
as I lay it next to another.
Below, I made a small panel to cut a heart shape.

After I've made the fabric
I lay it on the printed document.
Sometimes, I print on paper and lightly glue to card stock,
sometimes I print directly on the card stock.

Then I stitch in the blank area provided
that goes around the information on the bookmark
as shown below.

Then I being careful not to cut the stitching,
the bookmarks are cut apart with scissors.
You could use a rotary cutter.

The fun comes when you turn them over to see
how they turned out.
Much like the results of the paper craft world
using a master board.

 Here's your free copy
to right click and save.
Print to a full 8½ x 11 inch sheet
EnJOY making these and giving them away.

Mon Memory~ 1st Grand Daughter's 2024 Bday Card

In June she went on a cruise to Bermuda.
So......
Here is a palm tree with the sunrise or sunset.

Next time, so I don't have to pick out paper,
I think I'll just draw a reverse on
the iron interfacing side.
The interfacing was used to help the 3D effect.

The tucks in the water area are intentional.
To try to give a wave texture to the ocean.

Hope you had a Happy Birthday M.
