Quilt Shot Block ~ Greatest Generation Looking at a New Year

Last February we attended the AQS Quilt Week in Daytona Beach, Florida.
As I was looking over my shots,
I found a beautiful, intriguing & interesting quilt, I think,
brings on a lot of reflection as we enter a new year.
It is titled, "The Greatest Generation."

Thoughtful Thinking Thursday #70 ~ Road Trip Break

When you take a road trip, and you get the munchies,
what do you stop to eat?
Nearly every fast food and snacks at a gas station are all high carb.
I had no idea there was such a variety of peanuts.
Is this unique to Georgia?
Think about it.

Old Cell Phone Use

Something that stays in my sewing room is my old smart phone.
It's able to work on my wi-fi.
Some of the apps won't work anymore,
but Pandora is still playing.
And I do love my smooth jazz and relaxation sounds,
while I'm creating.

Wordless Wednesday #196 ~ Machine Breather

The machines are taking a winter break.
I've tucked them in to hunker down for the winter.
Don't worry.
These guys have been so busy, there are plenty of tutorials to come.
This gal is snowbirding this year without her machines!
They will be missed terribly.

Love my gals that are babysitting my house.

Memory Mon 32 ~ Traveling with the Wildcats

This picture takes my memories back to the Badlands of South Dakota, USA.
Mr. G is an avid University of Kentucky Wildcat fan.
As a result he has a major wardrobe of Wildcat marked clothing.
So you could say we travel with the Wildcats.
We don't travel to away games, but we have gone to the Liberty Bowl.
My physical health prevents me from going to games now,
but we do have plans for Mr. G to go to the Gator Bowl Saturday.
He is SO excited.
The new Wildcat Wardrobe the family gave him for Christmas will come in handy.
Good luck Wildcats and thanks for the memories.

Sun Best ~ Merry Christmas 2016 AC

Merry Christmas!
A day set aside by all Christians to celebrate the birth of Christ.
Some of us celebrate every week.

Quilt Shot Block ~ Christmas with the Quilt Guild- 25+ Ideas

In the summer, the members of the Elkhorn Creek Quilt Guild
put 3 or so fat quarters in a brown bag with their name.
Bags are drawn, taken home and turned into something
to be brought back to the December meeting to give back to that person.
Here is what turned up this year.
Lots of great and beautiful ideas here.
Snap shots were taken from my seat.
So I grabbed the best shot I could if I could.
I used PhotoScape to crop the pictures to be able to zoom in closer.

Pencil holder, sewing machine scrap bag, and other items that didn't get in the picture.

Scraps left over from making the pot holder and towel,
were placed in the Christmas Ornament.

A teapot cover. It came with a tea pot.
 Wall hanging, I think?

I think this was a traveling case for scissors.  I like the quilting whatever it is.

A piece shared at show and tell.
The husband colored the fabric.
