Continuing sharing our Indiana Covered Bridge trip.  This was the 6th bridge we found.  What a story they had to tell us at Bridgeton Mills. (Check out their site and blog because they don't have pictures of drought water.) I met a local fellow named Conrad that generously told me the story as well as the Miller.  Both seemed to love sharing the story. This bridge was a victim of arson in 2005 and was rebuilt by the community in 2006 without any help from the county. The wood came from across the field, built there and moved beside the modern bridge and then set in place.  A major event for this little town.

Yes, I see it.  Didn't notice it until I posted it.

Even with such a fabulous bridge and mill for tourist to visit, it's pretty much a ghost town that comes alive one week in October.

Then on down the road we found the next bridge with its own little larger ghost town.  Again, you could tell this place gets very active sometime during October.  Lots of places for booths.

 There was also a mill located at this bridge.

Almost missed seeing this one.  Can't figure out what it was crossing since it was parallel to the road.

This one is not listed on coveredbridgemap.com because it apparently was built by an individual on their property with a sign that said if they don't know you, don't stop, but we counted it anyway.

Bumble Bee Bird?

Sunday sitting on the couch looking at blogs and what to my wandering eyes should appear through the glass of my french doors?
Look VERY close around the purple flower on the deck.

If they are like the cardinals, then I'm guessing this one is female because the colors aren't as vibrant.

She soon flew off and then I saw ..........

Does he think he's hiding?

My friend BJ over at Brian King Images- Outdoor Photography (check out his awesome nature pictures) says this is an American Goldfinch.

6 Bags of Scrap Fabric

   I found a new book case that matched my sewing furniture and moved out a couch upstairs, so I've been moving the sewing room around and trying to organize a bit more.  While on the 400 mile yard sale, I bought 6 bags of beautiful scrap fabrics, some of which were a decent size, and some already cut in strips.  They filled a whole shelf and more.

Mr. G. found this mug and I agreed I needed it.  He also found a sign I should have gotten that said, "Home is where I keep my fabrics while I'm out getting more fabric."

So its birthday time again and one very belated birthday for Mr. G's Grand Daughters.  I had planned to make more AG doll clothes, but when I looked through my patterns and found some Barbie doll pattern instructions I'd copied from "Craftiness is not Optional," I thought what a great opportunity to use some of these scraps.
 

Before I knew it, I was at the sewing machine for 6 straight hours before I looked up at the clock!

And why not go ahead and make the gift bags as well with my signature?
