Decided to start at a place called the "Launching Pad @ Wilmington, IL" (It's for sale.)
Look at that beautiful sky.
Had lunch at the Polk-a-Dot Drive In
We finally gave in to stopping at a souvenir shop.
Mr. G also got an education in the harvesting of corn and soy beans.
We ended the day looking around the free museums at Pontiac, IL.
It was a beautiful little town with lots of murals and one way streets.
Might show some pictures from the museum later. It had displays of the day of the Mother Highway.
We were very interested in the vehicles and travels of Robert Waldmire.
Fine out more about Bob Waldmire with this YOU Tube

The Launching Pad sounds like a great place to start! I've always wanted to travel Route 66 so thanks for sharing your journey with us. Looking forward to all the things you see along the way.
