Fun Fri~ Binding a QOV: Picture Story & How to Determine Binding Amount
To measure binding, I take a width of fabric and lay beside length of quilt to see how many widths of fabric it takes and multiply by 4 to determine how many strips of WOF to cut. This is how much I had left over. I do not like tedious measuring.

2023 Elkhorn Creek QOV Group Quilt

This quilt made by the Elkhorn Creek QOV Group was started in 2023.
It was presented on April 12, 2025 as 1 of 16 quilts awarded
to Veterans and Active Duty troops.
We really appreciate their service.
The dream of these quilts is that
each person that has performed service for our country
is wrapped in comfort.
The Split Back Star Block was the 2023 block of the year.
For some reason
the qovf.org website
decided to delete all the past quilt block patterns.
We were allowed to download the pattern files
to use them in the future.
I'm glad I created a tutorial for this block
back in 2023.
Unfortunately, I didn't give the dimensions in my tutorial
because I wanted to give the qov site credit for the block pattern.
