Found these in an old sewing box
Mr. G got at a yard sale for me.
Yes, when I started learning how to sew,
my Dad used these for shaving.
When they became dull, Mother,
being the Depression age child that she was,
reused these as a seam ripper.
So, these became my first seam ripper.
They worked very well I might add.
Not much more unsafe than the rotary cutter of today.
We handled them with a lot of care.
My Mom (and grandmothers) used these for seam rippers too, and so did I....until I took home ec in high school and one of the 'requirements' was a proper seam ripper.
