T-Shirt Bag for T-Shirt Quilt

When I make a quilt for someone, I try to make a bag or pillow case to present it in.
There were several T-shirts leftover when I made the T-Shirt quilt, so I used them to make a bag to carry the quilt.  The quilt was going to be taken to college, so I felt it needed a carrier for transport and to help keep the quilt clean.

Cut 2 pieces from T-shirts that will fit over the quilt when rolled or folded up.
I liked using 2 different colors & I chose a design & words I wanted to show on the bag.
Sew the 2 pieces together around the sides and bottom.
A serger was used here, but a zig zag stitch could be used as well.
 For the handles,
cut about 9 inches off the bottom of 2 other shirts.
Leave in round, do not cut apart to make a long strip.
T-shirt knitting will not ravel, so leave as is at this point.
Just slightly roll each.
Lay the handles around the top of the bag and slightly roll each.
Bring top edge down over the handles and pin.
Continue pinning around top, folding over the handle.
Measure occasionally to make sure the top is folding the same amount all around the top.
Zig Zag stitch along the edge of the top.
Here the zig zag was over the serger stitches.
Leave opening on each side.

Pull a handle from each side.
Now this former high school band girl has a bag for her T-shirt quilt.
