For a couple of years now,
I've had an idea to make blocks patterned after game boards
to make a game quilt.
For the most part, these blocks were made with 2 inch strips and squares.
The designs were drafted in my grid book first.
Using a standard measurement throughout, helped the whole quilt come together.
Strips were added between blocks to "fill in" space to complete quilt.
Some strips were 3 inches wide and put together at right angle just to add some drama and design.

Used the good ole tried and true method that
Eleanor Burns of "Quilt in a Day" made popular many years ago.
The quilt sandwich is layered with batting, backing and the quilt top right sides together with backing.
With a ton of pins used around the edge, a quarter inch seam is stitched around the quilt
leaving an opening large enough to turn the quilt inside out.
After pressing the quilt is top stitched 1/2 inch around the edge closing the opening.

Both table top and frame quilting were used on this quilt.

Including designing, this quilt took over 40 hours to complete.
For the last few quilts, I sign in free motion and with a handmade label.
and I present the quilt in a bag made from leftover scraps.
Part of the strips came from the beginnings of a pair of culottes that was cut out and never finished.
I forgot to take a picture of the pocket placed on the back of the quilt to hold the game pieces.
A pair of dice need to be added.
Would be nice to have a pair of sponge dice?
I'm picturing this quilt on a camping trip.
