Fun or Funny Fri Foto ~ The Real Bean Town- AJ Bush & Co.

As we left Sevierville, TN from the Smokies this past spring,
we took a new road for us, HWY 411.
(Remember we'd rather not travel Interstates.)
We came upon a nice surprise rest stop.
The General Merchandise museum and restaurant looked new.
Before you go in, there are different opportunities for some selfies.

You walk on around to the opposite side of the building to enter.
Just a way to guide you through their building.
Best of all, the museum was free!
Mr. G who has a great eye for detail,
caught the reflection of the factory that's across the road.

It is still in operation.

When you first go into the museum,
you see a mammoth sized bean can
that kids & adults go through for more information.

There are all kinds of hands on activities for kids and big kids too.
You are greeted by very friendly people
that ask if you would like to view a video about the Bush company.
It so happened we only had to wait about a minute for the video to start.

The video explained the history of the Bush Company,
including the fact of how their original fields were flooded by a dam built for the war effort.
As you exit the theater, you are taken through a very nice museum showing the history of Bush.

We were also reminded of some of the previous commercials.
Then as most places do,
you are led through the souvenir shop which is very interesting.
I might add, the shop is filled with many vintage reproductions.
I like to look around for craft ideas I can do.
Like my embroidery machine could make this towel.
As you leave the parking lot, you get a grand view of the old home place.
That exit had to be planned.

and the site we left behind
It was a fun stop.
