Lesson 5 leads right into lesson 6. Only difference in the drawstring bag made in lesson 5 is instead of sewing the bottom in a seam, it's finished off for a hem.
This is the actual doll skirt my student made. She did an excellent job, but I didn't want to stress her by taking pictures as she worked. I did create the skirt for the "Shots Tutorial."
~~ Sewing Lesson 6~~
During this lesson, the student will practice turning over & ironing a measured edge, and pinning. These skills usually have to be practiced by a young sewist.
Stitch along bottom edge of "casing" just made.
Find a spot on your pressure foot that will help guide you along this folded edge.
Just like the casing, stitch along the edge of the hem.
It would be ok to stitch through the center of this fold.
Threading the elastic through the casing can be frustrating for beginners.
