1 of the Elkhorn Quilt Guild State Block of the Month choices

Pattern pieces were given for this block but I didn't use them.

Instead, with the help of this PDF, 

I created my block with an HST method.

 To make the half square triangles

cut a 6 inch square of each fabric.

Sew 1/4 inch seam all around the square.

Cut as shown above.

Cut a 3½ inch strip.

Cut into 4 squares.
