Fast Card Stockings

        Folks at my church trade Christmas Cards during Christmas time.  This year, I decided to make Christmas Card stockings.  The idea came from an Eleanor Burns video on You-Tube.
         

I drew a stocking large enough for a gift card, using an old hotel key card to make my pattern.

 Cut a 2 inch wide piece that will be longer than the top of the stocking.  Stretch knit works great.

 A cord is looped and placed in the stitch line before stitching

Tip: A triple stitch looks better than this single stitch.
