Getting Our Kicks~ Route 66 Vaca ~ Day 17~ Santa Fee Rt. 66 & Georgetown, CO

Albuquerque, NM to Georgetown, CO
A very long ride today so we could beat some weather.
First, some more beautiful shots of Albuquerque's beautiful landscaping on their Interstate system.

North to Santa Fe to check out the Pre 1937 Route 66
Down town old Santa Fe, NM

US bank moved into an old gas station?
New restaurants are built in adobe style.
New Mexico State Capital.
Couldn't get a clear picture for all the beautiful trees.
~
Then northward toward Denver, CO

A variety of grass lands and mountains.
You tell me what they are.  Had seen them before in other states on this trip.
Crossed the state line and immediately saw evidence of old forest fires in Colorado.
Didn't get to Denver until dusk and too much fog didn't allow me to catch the sky line of Denver.
As we headed west on Interstate 70 from Denver we started to become concerned when we saw the trees and vegetation covered with fog ice.  The mountains seemed to begin to swallow us.
However, making it to my cousin's home in Georgetown was worth it all.  She used to run a Bed-n-Breakfast.  We had a beautiful, warm and comfortable room.
After a short rest and some re-hydration, we were treated to a delicious supper and great conversation.

  2. Ah, amazing how you can see something so differently thru the lens, or someone else's. I hope you enjoyed your jaunt through my home town (Albuquerque area) and my favorite place to photograph (Santa Fe). You'll have to see my Santa Fe pictures. Lovely photos. Stopping by through LLOL.
