Easy One Handed Chili Bake

Easy One Handed Chili Bake
A variation of a recipe I did in 4-H in sixth grade. Yep, long time ago.

1.  First tie one arm (your dominant) to your side so you can still use your fingers, or break your arm and mess up your shoulder like I did.
2.  Brown 1 lb. ground beef, drain.  You can hold the pan still with your bad arm as long as the left non-dominant hand doesn't jerk the pan around too much.
3.  Mix in 1 small can of your favorite chile.  Mine is the cheapest and without beans.  If your dominant bad hand doesn't hurt too much, you can turn the can opener with it, because the can opener is not a leftie.
4.  Mix in 1 small can of pinto beans. This one had a pull tab and actually a bit easier to open with bad hand.
5.  Mix and pour into casserole dish greased by a cooking spray.
6.  Make about 2 cups of your favorite corn bread recipe which could be boxed or scratch.  I made scratch with:
2 C stone ground corn meal
    2T baking powder
    1 egg
1/2 C powered milk (I always keep this on hand because when I need milk for cooking, I'm always out.).
Add water until ingredients are mixed, not too thick and not too watery.
7. Pour corn meal batter on top of chili mixture.
8. Bake 350° for about 30 minute or until cornbread is browned.  Or your kitchen starts smelling good.

Warning:  Have somebody like Mr. G take it out of the oven for you because your arm is still tied to your side.

Serve with green salad and good ole southern iced tea.  Bet you can't eat just one serving.
Yes, you can make this with the use of both arms.
