Sheer (Curtain) Elegance Wedding Doll Dress

You'll find this post at several Linky Parties. Please check them out for some great ideas.
What can you turn one white sheer curtain into?  Actually you only need about half the curtain to make a wedding dress for an 18" doll.  I used part of the free dress pattern found at The Stitching Post.  Look for Josefina's Christmas dressI didn't use the sleeves but rather lined the bodice & skirt of the dress with a white cotton in order to face the sleeve and neck area and so the dress wouldn't be too shear.

Can you see the "fancy" machine stitching down the center and along the princess line.

To make the veil just take a length of lace or ribbon that can wrap and tie around the doll's head, as if you were tying a bandana at the base of the neck.  Determine how long you want the veil.  The width would be according to how full you wanted to gather.  Hem and gather fabric and stitch to the lace leaving enough lace free to tie at the base of the doll's neck.  If the child can't tie, consider using elastic.

Then of course we had to have bridesmaid dresses so, I made them out of sleeves of a lady's blouse.  Please refer to The Tale of Two Sleeves post for that how-to.

You might find more on the list I've decided to collect on a separate page.  Too much trouble adding to each one of these.
