This was one of my Mother's sayings.
Through the two weeks
nothing melting because of temps below 28ºF only.
Several nights were single to negative digits.
The creek has been frozen
those 2 weeks.
That's a rare thing to happen.
So it waited around for Feb. 2.
Today is Feb 5, 2026.
Nothing has changed
including the high temp at 28ºF.
We might have a dusting (I hope) of snow Fri night.
The temps finally go above freezing next week.
Then, I can finally get out of my drive.
Does old snow wait for new snow?
I've never heard that saying but I imagine that the snow just waits and re-arrives over and over again in places where its common for winter, (:
