Fun or Funny Fri ~ Daytona Speed Trap?

Well not really.
Mr. G decided he wanted to stop.
Glad we did.
Had a great talk with these Veterans on Hwy A1A in Daytona Beach.
Mr. G left a donation and I started grabbing shots.
The owner said this car used to sit in the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky.
He was excited that I went to college there once upon a time.

Embroidered Cards

I really enjoy making my own cards.  Usually they are made from fabric scraps.  I tried something new.  This is how I embroidered directly onto card stock.  It worked very well.

Tuesday Tutorial

My cards are made with a half sheet of regular paper size card stock, 11 x 8.5 inches.
The first few, I used a Frixon pin to mark the center and bottom of card
to help me orient the card correctly in the embroidery frame.
The Frixon marks are later ironed away.
Low tack tape (painter's tape) was used on the frame to hold the card stock.
Notice the frame is not taken apart.
The card stock sits on back of frame so it can lay flat.
I was surprised how well it worked.
The tape was reused for over a dozen cards.

A single line stitch embroidery file was used with a size 12 needle.
This heart embroidered looked well on the front and back side of this card.
A small, double stitch design will not work.
As shown here, in some places the stitches will not hold, but rather will go through the card stock.

I liked using red thread which reminds me of Redwork embroidery.
There are several web sites that offer some simple & free embroidery files.
Give it a try.
*Save your needle to only use on paper work.
